2016 Easter at UGM
In case you missed any of our social media postings on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter -- we had another successful Easter! First and foremost, Union Gospel Mission wants to thank all 77 volunteers who took time from their Easter Sunday to bring a glimpse of hope to our homeless guests and those in need by providing a hot Easter brunch meal.
The mission served its own version of Eggs Benedict which consisted of English muffins, Canadian bacon, egg patties, and Hollandaise sauce with sides of ambrosia salad and Potatoes O'Brien.
The mission served more than 600 meals to the guest and gave 677 Hope Totes with snack packs.
In addition to the festivities in downtown Portland, the Center for Women and Their Children in Beaverton was buzzing with excitement as the children were all eager to find eggs in the Easter egg hunt.
After the Easter egg hunt concluded, all the children and their mothers sat down and enjoyed an Easter dinner that consisted of ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus and dinner rolls.
