Campaign OVERVIEW

Union Gospel Mission is excited to share that our new home for LifeChange for Women and Children, Angela’s House, is complete. Angela and many others have gone above and beyond with their generosity and support to make this dream a reality.

We believe every woman and child in our community deserves a safe place to turn when facing homelessness, addiction, or abuse. With your support, we can open the doors to a new home where healing begins and lives are transformed. Together, we can offer hope and lasting change.

The Need

Sadly, Oregon leads the nation in families experiencing homelessness. 80% of women and children that experience homelessness also experience domestic violence. We are grateful that because of our community partners, we are ready to help meet these needs.

Connect

Women come to UGM during times of crisis through friends, family, churches, referrals, by finding us online, or through our frontline Homeless Services. Their first point of contact is our Intake Coordinator, who ensures their immediate safety and guides them through the first steps of entering the program.

New Life

Safety and stabilization are the foundation of a woman’s early experience at UGM. Women and Children enter a secure, supportive community where physical and emotional needs start to be addressed. Those ready for deeper transformation may apply to the LifeChange Recovery Program.

LifeChange

After New Life, women are invited to apply for LifeChange, UGM’s 12-month Christ-centered recovery program designed to address emotional, spiritual, and physical healing alongside staff and counselors. They receive mental health counseling, job training, education, and recovery coordination. Children likewise receive counseling and support tailored to their needs.

AfterCare

After completing LifeChange, we walk with women for an additional 2 years to ensure their long-term success, which means stable housing, employment, sobriety, restored relationships, and commitment to follow Jesus with others in a local faith community.

Triple the Impact

We invite you to join us in ensuring that we are ready to welcome every woman and child in our community who comes to us for support. With this expansion comes increased operating expense. We are seeking partners who can generously invest in welcoming women and children into this new home.

This new home allows us to triple our impact for only double the cost. The new home has 52 resident rooms, an education center, a children’s activity center, a commercial kitchen, a counseling center, and a chapel. Over the next 10 years, we will offer more than 2,000 women and children a chance at new life.
