Offering Hope and Healing to Women and Children Escaping Abuse

UGM

The stories are heartbreaking.  A woman and her toddler escaping gang violence and sex trafficking, a woman hospitalized due to the severe beatings at the hands of the father of her child, and a homeless woman experiencing sexual and physical violence trying to survive on the streets.

Since Union Gospel Mission opened its new facility in Beaverton, we are able to open our doors to both single women and women with children who are escaping domestic violence, sex trafficking and the physical and sexual violence vulnerable homeless women experience. This is an expansion of services to women beyond the former program focus of primarily addiction recovery and homelessness.

A safe facility, caring staff and volunteers, counseling, abuse recovery classes and bible studies help these women heal and have hope in a positive future.  In this environment both mothers and children heal together from a past of trauma.

Thank you for helping these women and children escape abuse to be invited into a safe, healing place where they experience Christ-like care.

“Through the Mission He has placed people in my life to guide me in the right paths and to overcome the darkness of my past. If it weren't for the Lord placing people like you in my life, I wouldn't be here and my daughter would be without a mother,”  resident at our LifeChange Center for Women and their Children.
