Blanket and Sock Drive with the Winterhawks Nov. 23

The Portland Winterhawks Booster Club is hosting a sock and blanket drive at the Winterhawks Daylight Classic game on Friday November 23.  Union Gospel Mission and the Winterhawks Booster Club will be at the doors of Memorial Coliseum to collect new and gently used socks and blankets to help the homeless in the cold weather season.  Doors open at the game at 2:00 pm and the game begins at 3:00 pm.  To buy tickets to the game, visit the Winterhawks website.

Last week, for the third year in a row, members of the Portland Winterhawks hockey team came to the Mission to serve dinner to the homeless. The players served up pasta, vegetables, and dessert to the homeless guests.
