Portland’s Union Gospel Mission held their 12thannual cold-weather essentials drive and street fair, Operation Overcoat.  This event provides Union Gospel Mission and all their volunteers an

opportunity to serve and help the homeless community of Portland in a huge, one-day event.

With over 300 volunteers serving at the event, almost 1000 people received meals and donated items.  The event gave away 553 coats, 331 sleeping bags and blankets, 502 hygiene kits, 129 massages, and a total of 1885 meals.  The event also hosted free dental check-ups, massage stations, a barbeque, and live music.
