In the eyes brimming with tears when a woman hears that she and her children are welcome here. When it feels like all hope is lost and we tell her we are going to do everything we can to help her change her life. It’s the power of knowing that someone believes in you. That someone cares and they are willing to help. 

For women, like Jennifer, who come through our doors— they’ve never known that kind of support.

When Jennifer woke up without knowing when or how she was going to get to see her children again—it was the worst moment of her life. She felt like giving up.

But instead she came here. And found herself surrounded by people who cared and wanted to help her change her life. People like you. And it worked.

“I’m thankful for Union Gospel Mission because I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for them,” Jennifer shares. Now she’s focused on the future, but she’s not moving forward without giving back.

Jennifer has become a mentor to help other moms who have lost their way know that change is possible. She’s committed to helping other moms because she knows the difference it can make—not only for her— but for the children who depend on their mom to get better.
