Thank You Donors and Volunteers! 233,408 Meals Served in 2014

Thank you donors and volunteers for an amazing year of service to the homeless, hurting and addicted in our community! In 2014, Union Gospel Mission provided 233,408 meals to the homeless and people in need.

2,544 food boxes were provided to individuals and families who were struggling just to keep a roof over their head. Because of you, those families were able to get a food box or even a special Thanksgiving basket with a turkey certificate and plenty of food for a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.

Thanks to your support we were able to serve 4,685 GALLONS of coffee to our homeless guests that enjoyed the hospitality of our day room.  These guests were also provided with 124,208 snacks.

In addition to meals, food boxes and snacks, Union Gospel Mission provided 24,100 clothing items to the homeless and people in need. Including nearly 2,000 blankets and sleeping bags! This is possible because donors and volunteers like you!

Our guests also received 2,027 hygiene items, essentials like a toothbrush, deodorant or soap. In our day room and at our special events we were able to distribute 1,256 Bibles.

Beyond the essentials of food and clothing, the generous support of our donors and volunteers helped us celebrate our first year in our new LifeChange Center for Women and Their Children located in Beaverton.  This new location and expanded program helped women and children escape abuse, homelessness, and addiction and find fresh hope in a safe, healing home! The new facility was filled with women discovering a path to healing from past traumas and bad choices, and children enjoying the safe environment to play, laugh and be children.

Our men's LifeChange program in our downtown location has been going strong through 2014.  We are so thankful for donors and volunteers supporting men who were homeless and addicted find new purpose. Through pastoral counseling, the Genesis relapse prevention program, and work therapy men in LifeChange have been building new lives.

LifeChange for men, women and children is a Christ-centered program that is transforming lives in a powerful way!

None of this outreach and service would be possible without the over 3,523 volunteers that generously gave their time and talents to help! Thank you volunteers!
