Turkeys Needed for Thanksgiving Feast

UGM

Every Thanksgiving, Union Gospel Mission blocks off the street on NW Third Avenue in front of the Mission and sets up a 120 foot tent donated for use by Northwest Natural Gas.  We prepare over 100 turkeys in advance along with all the traditional Thanksgiving trimmings to serve over 1,200 meals to the homeless and people in need.  These are people who otherwise may have spent the day alone on the streets. We reach out to provide a happy, home-like Thanksgiving, which we call "Love Your Neighbor Day." We currently have no turkeys. We need donations of turkeys, coffee, and #10 cans of fruit cocktail.  If you can donate any of these items, please contact Lori Quinney, our food service coordinator at loriq@ugmportland.org or call 503-274-4483.
