Local Businesses Help the Mission Save Over $2,600 per year

Earth day is this Friday, a good time to think about using our resources wisely. This year, Union Gospel Mission is fortunate to receive some expert help from nine area businesses willing to donate their services and materials to upgrade the lighting and fixtures at the Mission's thrift store in Tigard. This upgrade will result in $2,675 savings per year! The effort is spearheaded by Evergreen Consulting a Tigard based company, which manages energy efficiency programs throughout the Northwest to help businesses control operating costs and help utilities meet energy saving goals.

The other companies donating services and/or materials include: Alderbrook & Associates, Capitol Electric Company, Inc., Extra Effort Consulting & Supply, ECO Energy Savings, PLATT, North Coast Electric, United Rentals, and The Light Edge. The estimated cost of services and products is $25,000.

A one day work party will take place on April 25 from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm at the thrift store.

We are very thankful to all involved in this project!
