Travis and Katie, blessings in the face of adversity
Travis and Katie moved to Portland in February right before the Covid crisis unfolded. We first met Travis and Katie when they stayed at our overnight shelter. During that time our staff was able to build a relationship with the couple and coach them into finding housing. Unfortunately as the Covid-19 crisis evolved their housing options became more and more limited and challenging. While moving from temporary shelter to temporary shelter, Katie gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
These are our neighbors, these are the people that we lend a hand to and share the love of Jesus. The pathway out of homelessness can be long and difficult. Finding steady work and affordable housing in one of the most difficult economies on record would be enough to break even the strongest person. Help us come along side people like Travis and Katie, help us love our neighbors in need, pray, volunteer or donate. Consider becoming a monthly partner https://ugmportland.org/heart-of-hope
