Operation Overcoat Volunteers Needed

Union Gospel Mission's biggest event, Operation Overcoat, will be here before you know it on Sept. 26. This year, UGM will celebrate its fifteenth year of hoCotton candy at Operation Overcoatsting Operation Overcoat. The mission anticipates serving over 1,300 of Portland's homeless and those in need. Less than a month till the event, UGM still needs at least 100 more volunteers to help make this year's Operation Overcoat go off without a hitch. The volunteer shifts that need to be filled are from the hours of 11 p.m. - 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. The event this year will not only feed the guests a BBQ meal, but also provide access to coats, winter clothing, sleeping bags, dental care, a haircut, and a Bible. Most of all, Operation Overcoat will give hope!

If you want to volunteer or know anyone who wants to volunteer at UGM, please contact Bernadette Gonzales at bernadetteg@ugmportland.org or call 503-274-4483.

Watch and see why your help and contribution is vital to Portland's homeless and those in need.
