Freezing overnight temps expected & we need blankets!

Union Gospel Mission expects to provide emergency overnight shelter tonight since temperatures are dropping below 32 degrees.

This is how it usually works: after our usual chapel dinner, we put the tables away and set mats out on the dining room floor and allow people to come in to sleep. We are an "overflow" emergency shelter, so these are folks who would have spent the night out on the street, possibly risking their lives.

One thing we always need this time of year is blankets and sleeping bags. We have the mats, but we need to provide the blankets or sleeping bag for our guests. If you can help, please call Dave Johnson 503-274-4483 ex. 518 or just drop them off at 3 NW Third Ave., Portland (corner of 3rd & Burnside)
