Bottled Water Needed for Homeless in Extreme Heat

Portland is expecting record breaking temperatures this week. Union Gospel Mission needs donations of bottled water for our downtown day room cooling station and to send out on the Mission’s Search + Rescue van. The Search + Rescue vans will be going out to homeless camps in the evening and distributing bottled water, providing juice and sandwiches.

Union Gospel Mission is expanding our hours for the homeless services cooling station. The hours are:

Tuesday – Friday Open 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Union Gospel Mission will provide water and other beverages, snacks and clothing. Union Gospel Mission will be open for chapel service and dinner 7:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Search + Rescue vans will be out at homeless camps throughout the city from 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Bottled water donations can be dropped off at 3 NW Third Ave., in Portland or call 503-274-4483 for more information.
